The Taming of The Shrew
By William Shakespeare. Director Tom Vavasour.
The season: Thu 6th - Sat 8th July, Tues 11th - Sat 15th July
William Shakespeare’s classic comedy of wooing and wedding hit the stage with force in Tom Vavasour’s lively and energetic mid-winter production. Well-pitched physical humour lent an exciting visual spectacle to the fast-pace verbal sparring of the feisty Kate and her cavalier suitor. Julian Southgate’s luscious set design evoked all the splendour of a 15th century great hall, complete with a grand fireplace that veritably crackled with the allure of glowing reality.
